last night was something special.

last night was a doozy people, a real doozy. widespread panic descended on the township auditorium in columbia, sc and they took everyone hostage. what.a.show. i mean, wow. i can't remember having such a great time in this town. ever. and i've had some great times.
this wasn't the first time i'd seen these fellas take to the stage at the township. it wasn't the second either. heck, the first time i saw widespread panic at the township wasn't even in this decade. i guess we were about 16 when my friends and i shook our money makers with the boys from georgia for the first time. ironically, as denise pointed, we had the same seats last night as we did all those years ago. and many of our same group of friends were there... patrick, denise, adam, ashley, jake... oh yeah. we're the OGs for the WSP.

but we're not the only original gangstas. almost everyone there is a loyal fan, tried and true. we've been there right along with them through the good, the bad, the heartbreaks, and the triumphs. and they've been there for us, too, giving us something to look forward to. giving us music that soothes our souls and warms our hearts and gets our pulses racing. giving us music that makes check our inhibitions at the door and dance to the rhythm of the world around us. music that makes our booties do the talking and puts our minds at ease. giving us a party that no one can come close to matching.
i'm not quite sure how they do it, but widespread panic does it. and they do it well. not every time. nobody's perfect. but last night they were. last night was something special. thank you, boys.
